The Camino Documentary - Winning Awards

Camino de Santiago is many things to us. Our founder, Allen Kreutzkamp, walked the Camino in 2018 when our wavecoin was still in production. His experience led to our foundation adopting the Camino shell on one side of our wavecoins. We really connected with the symbolism of many paths coming from one point, or many good actions coming from one individual. Many pilgrims wear this symbol on their journey, creating a natural unity among all travelers.

Likewise, Waves of Goodness foundation believes that kindness should be a part of the journey. That, along your way, wherever you are in your day, find moments to serve, to cheer, to connect, to be kind. As each individual does so, we make friendships, we become unified in a single good cause, and we create waves that ripple outward from us.

Waves of Goodness sponsored this documentary, created by BYU journalism students in 2019. It has since been given an award from The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS, also known as the company behind the Emmys): The Best Long-form Nonfiction Film. And before that, this film was also given an Award of Excellence from the Broadcast Education Association.

This was an important project for Waves of Goodness because this pilgrimage played a key part in our creation, and it represents the kindness of the human spirit. Anyone who goes on this pilgrimage will tell you that this journey brings a peace and simplicity, and an openness to connect to anyone, even with language barriers.

We want to congratulate the BYU students and faculty that did such an amazing job with this production, and in capturing the essence of this experience.
